Good Afternoon,

I just read about this site a few moments agon and I think this is what I have been looking for a long time. I run a cartographic design studio in Amsterdam, trying to make some nice looking maps for all kinds of purposes. We make maps for public transport, tourism and long distance cycleroutes throughout Europe. We are working with eight people and we all try to do something special within the field of cartography. Some of us maken animated maps (sound on!), others make very nice rastermaps with hillshaded patterns. As long as we can use maps to express ourselves, it is good.
We are now working on GIS to see what it all could bring to us. I hope to hear more form you all,

Paul Benjaminse

Welcome to the forum Paul. I like your website. It took me a minute to figure the navigation, but I appreciate the unique approach. It's interesting. Erin.

Welcome Paul.
I loved your site. Like Erin I also had a little trouble navigating probably because of the Dutch language. (which incidently as one comedian once put it, sounds as if you guys are talking underwater) :D
Very cool indeed, very nice maps too!

Welcome Paul,

That is a very slick site, love the museum approach. Now if only I understood any of it...Maybe it's time for me to learn another language.

  • Interests:I am a Cartographer with varied experience. I work primarily as a freelancer. In my freelancing career I have worked with Maps.com, Designmaps.com, 3dmaps and various other map making and cartography sites.

I have varied software experience, however I use almost all the Cartography and quite a few GIS software, Illustrator, Freehand, Adobe Photoshop and Mapinfo to be precise. I have also worked on Microstation and other Intergraph software including Stereo Photogrammetry on ZI Photo Suites. The other software that I utilize for various other tasks specially 3D realism are Global Mapper and Maprenderer 3D.

Global mapper is a versatile software for various conversion and I found Maprenderer 3D for producing stunning 3D images from height data.

I am available for freelance work, right from mundane line digitisation to Illustrator / Freehand Cartography. Just send me a mail at promapper@gmail.com
