NEW ORLEANS --Google's popular map portal has replaced post-Hurricane Katrina satellite imagery with pictures taken before the storm, leaving locals feeling like they're in a time loop and even fueling suspicions of a conspiracy.

Update:

Director of Google Maps/Local/Earth, John Hanke, officially responds in a blog. http://googleblog.bl...-in-google.html

Apparently, the information was always available on http://earth.google.com/katrina.html and had been "reverted" back in September 2006.

But it looks like that might not be enough, as Rep. Brad Miller (D-N.C.), chairman of the House of Representatives science oversight committee, has demanded a response from CEO Eric Schmidt. http://democrats.sci...maps07mar30.pdf

No conspiracy here folks. (99.9% of the time, there never is.)
