Hi,
when I launch Hot Spot or Cluster/Outlier Analysis in Arc View 9.1 I get the message "Failed to execute". The new shapefile is created and consists all neccesary fields, but no records are added. I've got this trouble only with one shapefile. Could anyone please help?

In my experience this results from one of two things:
1. Not having a sufficient data range in the weightings for the points (or not having run the collect events tool first). For instance if the weighting for all the points is one, the tool won't run.
2. Having either a null point in the shape field or a null value in the weight field. You can check this by using Select by Attributes with the <field> IS NULL query.
