I would like to hear from folks who have done, and still do, web map portals. When I did my last one I used ArcIms yet am aware there are many other methods (Perl, SVG etc). I am steering away from programming at all costs.

Basically, client wants a cost for providing him with a web map app of the world (polygons, basic labeling, no imagery) with drilldown capability to city level anywhere in the world, then cities are hyperlinked to other pages on the client's site. Some database access will be necessary (populate map header fields with data of selected map feature).

If you can handle this and provide a professional, modern solution (or know who can) please PM me asap. Example work will be necessary.

Client is in US, yet I don't see why this would be restricted to North America so all should inquire.
