GIS to GPS Coordinates

I'm trying to figuring out how to convert GIS topographic data onto GPS coordinates for topology mapping.

I tryed QGIS to create polygons and export data without success. My data are on ArcView Format.

You guys have an idea?

Well, what's commonly referred to as "GPS coordinates" is WGS84 lat/lon. However, we'd need a bit more information before we can give a definitive answer (if any).

What exactly are you trying to do? Input coordinates from a GIS file as waypoints in a GPS receiver?

Sort of, but not in GPS Receiver.

I want to convert topology information into polygons first (like 500' contours, 1000' contours, 1500' contours etc). Then, take the polygons points, convert them into GPS coordinates and store them in a sector file (for online air traffic control).

I have to do this for the totality of polygons points. As you can see, polygons are squares.

Is this a description of a single 2-point line? If so, I assume the numbers are degrees, minutes, seconds and decimal seconds. That can be calculated back to decimal degrees, I would personally run this through FME but there's other options, I would imagine. It's not very complicated process, but a bit cumbersome to set up.

What application are you trying to get this into? What application is generating this data? (trying to figure out if there would be a more direct route)

Yes this is a line between two points, i guess! (or a square/rectangle). To create a region, you have to give the bounds of the area.

I'm using QGIS, but I have also ArcGIS or Irdisi (at school) to try. The data i provided was in the default sector file I have and are provided directly from NOAA.
