I just got a bunch of data in .adf format. I thought this was a raster GRID data format or arc coverage but it appears that I was maybe sent vector data this way as well. I've tried opening these files with both arc and Manifold without any success. Anyone work with data in this format before? ArcCatalog refuses to even see the files, even using the coverage tools.
I'm a bit at a lost to figure out what is contained in thse files and how to convert them to something useful without going back to arcinfo.

it looks like Global Mapper handels .adf's that are both vector coverages and binary grids. if the files not too large i can try to open them in GM and save out for you if you like.

It seems like a the info tables had not been sent along with the .adf files. Once I got those arc was able to read the vector coverages fine.
But thanks.

Martin,
would it be an ArcInfo binary grid format file?
W001001.ADF (plus a lot of other .adf files).
