I don't think it's been mentioned here... Did anyone get to see the ACSM-related show "Maps in our Lives" at the Library of Congress? It closed about a month ago, but the online exhibit is still up. Lots of familiar names.

About a year ago, I checked out the ACSM exhibit on display in the hallway outside the LOC Map Reading Room. I visited on a Saturday and the place was practically deserted, so I had lots of time to study the maps. Most of the maps were pretty large. Unfortunately, they had high-quality reproductions (much like those shown online) and not the original maps on display.

That's a shame. I can see that makes for the George Washington originals, but the Map Bunker seems like a pretty secure place to me...
