I apologize for the solicitation, but some may be interested.

There is a new GIScience group that intends to focus on the science side of GIS rather than the technical. Cartographic science discussions are very welcome. The group is definitely not intended to replace this forum, and is just meant to cover another area/need (in an already crowded arena ).

Here is the group description:
The focus of this group is on Geographic Information Science. The goal is to include discussions ranging from the philosophical (epistemology, ontology, ethics, gender) to the theoretical. Please do not submit software specific questions, or technical unless relating to a theoretical issue.
