Does anyone have a tutorial on how to utilize landcover data (raster not vector) in World Construction Set? I am new to WCS so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Bruce, I use VNS now, so I'm not exactly sure what functionality is available in WCS any longer, but the main way I use this type of raster data is via the color map component. the color by pixel /or polygon option lets you determine how the data will be used and visualized. make sure the color map component window is active, and then hit F1; 3DN help files are quite thorough. Else, the product ships with a set of tutorial DVDs, three to be exact, I think... and these have loads of good work flows.

This yahoo group may be a good place to ask the same question:

the 3DN message board is a tremendous resource. just make sure to give it an honest go of searching the board archives for the answer to seemingly obvious/newbie questions AND reading the related help files before posting; the lack of doing either is pointed out to people fairly regularly...

Scott Cherba, who if you hang at the above board long enough will most definitely have something to contribute to your project, also has a number of great VNS/WCS tips, pointers, and tutorials on his own site:

should have mentioned this one earlier...

some good stuff on color maps over there.
