The annual conference of the North American Cartographic Information Society is where people who make maps get together to talk about--making maps!
The conference will be held this fall, October 12-15, in Salt Lake City. I'm the program chair this year, responsible for putting together two days of sessions that would interest cartographers and map users.
I encourage you all to attend, but more immediately, I encourage you to make a presentation of some sort at the conference. You may want to display some recent work in our Gallery, display a Poster Session, or give a talk about some topic, recent project, or cartographic challenge. Abstracts for such talks need not be terribly formal: just tell what you want to talk about (in 200 words or fewer) and e-mail it to veep@nacis.org before June 15.
Watch the new NACIS website for more information about the conference.
