i remember a post about this a long time ago but can't find it. When i view posts it shows me the latest reply fisrt which means paging back and scrolling down to find out what the original topic was. Can i change a setting to make it so that i can see the first topic first?

Try clicking on "Options" and selecting "Outline" as the display mode. Not exactly what you are looking for, but the subjects are in linear order, and you see the first post.
