Reputable on-line payment options for clients?

Chris I am maybe off base, but for on-line payment (I believe that is the original topic) ... why not tell your client you accept visa... that is the way he is going to have to pay anyway if he wants to pay online. If you have a commercial banking account you can have a visa account relatively cheap. Get the card number .... phone in for an authorization number and cash in the visa stub at your bank... you can even set it up on your own site using ssl.

Thanks Jacques, I'll look into it. Maybe getting a visa account is easier than it used to be. I think I'll steer towards using paypal for these once-in-a-while payments, and keep using bank-to-bank as standard practice.

I had some preliminary discussions with a client a couple of years ago who inquired about paying with a credit card. I thought about having him purchase some computer equipment for me in return for his work.

Nowadays it's pretty easy to set up a PayPal account so that people can pay you with a credit card.
