I specialize in printing, mainly large-format art prints. I was wondering if i could find some hi-res images of old maps. Is is legal as long as i'm not selling them? I'm not interested in making money but if someone could supply hi-res images maybe we could trade for a print?
if this is breaking any rules here i apologize

Probably the best source for high-resolution images is the Library of Congress Map Collection. A really good collection except many of the maps need a lot of Photoshop cleaning.

Don't forget to check out David Rumsey's collection. He has nice Mr.Sid images.
I am not too sure if you can repreint/sell them, but I think you can (legally) from the Library of Congress. Ebay is filled with reprints.
David is a very nice guy so I would ask first.
