Hello there-
My name is Fayçal from Casablanca, Morocco. I grew up here in Morocco, I have lived in the United States for 8 years where I earned an Electrical Engineering degree.

I got into Cartography when I was co-managing a local company involved in vehicle tracking 3 years ago. The lack of reliable digital maps pushed me into becoming a Self-made Cartographer.

Since then I have had the chance to produce a few Maps for local companies. I am now hoping to keep my new business growing through generating good quality / reliable maps. (I use GIS Arcview,GIS,Illustrator,Photoshop,Didger and a few other tools to make my maps)

I think there is a lot of opportunity in Morocco and North Africa when it comes to Cartography, and I hope to exchange ideas with all of you to keep on growing this market.


I have found this forum very enriching and uniting people with this same interest all over the world.....

Absolutely! A few of the popular phrases:

1) "Bye Y'all"
2) "Y'all"
3) "all Y'all (more common in Texas I think)

I smile everytime I hear one of the above....
