How about the first maps to show America? As a matter of fact, the *first* map to show America, the Waldseemuller map, will be auctioned soon.

Another one that comes to mind (a series of maps rather than a single one) is the maps produced by the Allies in preparation for the Normandy invasion.
Do you think the London Underground map would count? It's probabely the most recognizable map ever made.
