I just discovered this site a week ago, it looks like a great community and source for cartographic info. I was a geography major at the University of TN, where I first started making maps by converting from ArcGIS to Freehand. I would like to begin a freelance business of my own in the future. I look forward to sharing ideas, getting tips, and communcating on this site. Nice to be here!!

Hello and welcome to CartoTalk... glad to see a fellow geography major, it seems most of the members I've interacted with have either design or cartography backgrounds!
