When will the next issue of CP be out?

I have to say that I too thought gee, now I can save my $45 a year as I only ever paid it to get CP.

Actually there were no good alternatives for going both ways. For one, cutting the print run only raises the per print cost. Then there would be two layouts needed for every issue: a lot of time and work. A third concern would be keeping the print and digital issues in step: the two forms would have very different production cycles.

Basically, it was one way or the other...

I'm not crazy about the digital issues I have seen: the image quality of the illustrations in the Champlain map article in issue 66 would have disgraced a middle school geography report.

...and what is that word/snot ball that heads up each article?

I am, however, confident that it is just a matter of settling into the new groove. This IS an opportunity for CP to get to a lot more readers, and that IS the main reason for a journal.
