This is the feature that finally got me to take a close look at Inkscape. Spiro splines are a new way to draw curves that reflow as you reposition the nodes. This creates much smoother curves than the bezier based curves currently in Illustrator.

That's some pretty neat functionality! I really like the smoothing slider too. I like the fact that there is an open source vector drawing program that has some teeth.
