Is it "muddy earth"? (isn't that where Lord of the Ring Around the Bathtub takes place?)

Dave,

Nope :P

Never heard of "Lord of the ring around the bathtub", but I do have "Bored Of The Rings".

Correct.

Famous for several things, most importantly (well, to me anyway) as a filming location for the movie Quadrophenia. Also, the IRA once executed a terrorist attack on EU leaders there, letting a bomb explode in the Grand Hotel. Finally, one of the piers burned down 2 years ago.

Your turn.

:o got one!

Should have thought before answering though as I can't access Google Earth at home (still on dial-up) or work, as it's been banned! Sorry to disrupt the flow of the game but I was excited to find one I could actually answer

Hans, you can have my turn if you want?

Greg.

Greg,

It doesn't necessarily have to be Google Earth. The satellite view from Google Maps or Local Live (or whatever it's called) would do just fine.

Anyway, I'm out of inspiration for the moment, so first person to post something gets the turn.

still doesn't help me, but maybe someone else can figure it out... I suspect that the photo is of the who bassist john entwistle, but I can't find any connection between that band a small town in the US (which I assume it is, with the square subdivisions)

It won't show up if you look for "Entwistle", but try "Entwistle, AB". Tiny town in Alberta, west of Edmonton.

In fact, it turned out this one really was impossible, because the town name, which I spotted in Google Maps a few months ago, doesn't show up anymore. Probabely lost in a map update.

Oops

I'd still say you're the winner, Hugo. You correctly identified John Entwistle himself.
